The Coffee Hunter | Hopper, Rotterdam

What once started as merely a job to save up money for my exchange trip to The States developed into a full-blown passion for coffee. I loved working as a barista, making people’s days a little brighter with a cup of great quality coffee. Since my barista days are behind me, one of my favorite things to do is find great coffee places in every city I visit. And I’d love to share my coffee hunting finds with you all on here! Ready for our first coffee stop? Its at Hopper, Rotterdam.

The Atmosphere:

Hopper is a coffee-bar and bakery in one in the city centre of Rotterdam. I’m a little bit ashamed to say that I had no clue of its existence even though I’ve lived in this city for most of my life. I’d say there’s a bit of a modern/hipster kind of feel to it, which is more spacious than cosy. The openness of the interior design allows us to see everything being made, which I love; no secrets. There’s enough space to sit and the high ceilings and windows allow for a lot of natural light. During those sunny days you will want to venture outside or sit at the bar facing the street, which is perfect for some people watching.

The Coffee:

The coffee is just the way I like it; strong taste & great quality. I’ve tried the cappuccino here and the iced latte and both were among the best I’ve tasted. But besides the wonderful coffee, its quite hard to just stick to only having a coffee with all those delicious freshly baked treats right under your nose. So try the apple/date-cake while you’re at it, I promise it will not disappoint!

Perfect For:

This is definitely a great spot to catch up with a friend or talk over business. If you’re looking for a lunch spot this is a good option too, as they offer different kinds of fresh sandwiches, salads and soups.

Adress:
Schiedamse Vest 146, Rotterdam

You can find their website here.

If you have any favourite coffee places I should check out (It really does’t matter where in the world, I hope to get everywhere one day) please do let me know in the comments section!

Liefs,
Yara

I love the industial but natural feel to this coffee shop. It’s such a design trend and it’s gorgeous! THAT BREAD. Bread is my favorite food so I’m totally fangirling. I would take 20 instagram pictures of this place and space them out over a month haha. :)
