In an attempt to be a more organized blogger I had planned to post about my time in Dublin today. But then I had also planned to not eat any candy or a bag of crisps for a month, but you know, life happens and plans change. Now you can probably tell from the title of this post that the reason for the change might be a bit unusual. Here’s a little thank you post dedicated the mosquito (may she rest in peace).
The sun wasn’t even up yet and I was in the middle of slaying a dragon whilst hiking the Mount Everest (just giving you a visual here) when the growling sound of the dragon turned into one of the most annoying sounds a sleeping human knows; the buzz of a mosquito. I tried to kill it with my sword but after two failed attempts I struggled to open my eyes and slowly my sword turned into a pillow and the hunt began. Long story short, after thirty minutes I succeeded in slaying the dragon, I mean mosquito, and was left wide awake. I tried to fall asleep again but with no luck I gave up and grabbed my phone; “Good morning Instagram”. After checking emails, Facebook, the blog and Instagram for a second time I dragged myself out of bed slightly grumpy for being up already.
Here’s the thing, its not even 9am over here and I have crossed off so many things off of my to do list already its ridiculous. I turned on my Sunday Morning Playlist, saw the sun come up, my room is tidy, I had an amazing healthy breakfast, did the dishes, responded to emails, edited photos and did a little dance or two around my room. Doesn’t sound like a bad morning at all now does it? Especially for someone who’s worthless in the morning most of the time. I’m always complaining about not having enough time to do the things I want to do and quotes like “You have as much hours in a day as Beyonce” really frustrate me most of the time, but hey, they are true. So I thought a proper thank you might be in order, to the mosquito that made this all possible.
All jokes aside, I am feeling good about today & I do want to be more of a morning person. I want to start the morning in a productive way because it just makes you more positive the rest of the day. I’m not saying I want that mosquito to show up again tomorrow but I’m setting that alarm a little earlier tomorrow and try to avoid the snooze button. Now if you’ll excuse me I need to make myself another big cup of coffee!
Ps. any tips on being more productive in the morning are very welcome!
