A Night At The Ballet

A Night At The Ballet

About a week ago I got to cross something off my bucket-list that has been on there for YEARS and I got to cross it off with my best friend, which made it so much better.

Ballet holds a big spot in my heart and there is a part of me that will always wish I was more talented in that area of life but I’m not and thats okay, I still love to practice it (even though I have to admit its been months since I last went to a ballet class..) and seeing others perform just gets me all sorts of excited/emotional. So you can imagine I was quite over the moon when The Mr. got me tickets for Christmas to see Swan Lake. After counting down the days (yes I did) and listening to the music on Spotify non-stop, last Monday it was finally show-time. I even bought a dress to wear for the occasion, which sounds really silly now but its a really nice long mustard-coloured dress and I wish I had a better picture of it, but I don’t. Maybe next time ;). Anyway, back to the ballet. After a little mix up with our seats we sat down, opened the little box of candy (because I will forever be a little kid when it comes to candy) and when the lights started to dim, I got to experience all the butterflies in the world flying around in my stomach. It was amazing, the music was wonderful and the dancers blew me away. I may or may not have had to blink a couple of tears away every now and then, it just really got to me. I was a little nervous at first, because The Mr. had never been to a ballet before and I was worried he might not appreciate it (actually I was worried he’d think it was dead boring with some weird looking people in super tight clothes) but boy he proved me wrong. We even started a little piggy bank to go to the theater again soon! Can you tell I’m excited? I’m really excited hah. This was definitely one of my favorite dates ever. Now enough with all the cheesy-ness, how are you all?
